decisions, decisions

so I know my last post went on and on about me finding "the dress." well, as it turns out, I kept looking and went to Davids Bridal today and guess what? found another dress that I am in love with...I think even more than the one I tried on at Celebrations! Actually, I'm pretty sure it's "the dress". The funny thing is, they are completely different dresses! But this one more simple and really is more me. So I'm very excited to have found this dress!

A lot is happening soon, as in the next few weeks and it's all kind of overwhelming! My cousin's last day at work is Friday and leaves for Cali Aug 8, which is very bittersweet because we've actually become close working together and now she's leaving! But I do know it's something that her and her husband want to do so I'm very happy for them...and sad...and happy...and sad...etc! Plus we move August 10th to our new home and now planning a wedding. It's all going on at the same time and just seems exciting and exhausting all at the same time.

I would just to take a minute to say how truly lucky I am. I couldn't have asked for a better family and genuine friends! They have been such an amazing support system through all of these new changes in my life and I honestly could not have done it without them. How did I get so lucky? It's wonderful! Thank you!

Alright well before I finish this up, I wanted to share a new website I found recently with recipes! I have not tried any of the recipes yet, I just stumbled upon it a couple days ago but have been looking at what is on there and everything sounds wonderful! It even has the nutrition information on it and WW points! Check it out! www.skinnytaste.com

say yes to the dress!

It seems that sunday nights are always depressing. Who looks forward to waking up super early for work? not me.

Anyways, this weekend was a lot of fun though! I went wedding dress shopping for the first time yesterday. Can we just say overwhelming? You think you know the dress that you would love to have and then you try a bunch and realize it's not like you wanted. I tried on around 15 dresses, some were definitely no's, a few were maybe's and I had 3 that I narrowed it down to, but one was my absolute favorite! It's nothing like I thought I would want, but everything I love! I was not expecting to find "the dress" on my first day, I really just wanted to look. But it's true, you just know when you put it on...and I did! But, I am going to look some more since I only went to Celebrations. I need to know all my options..but that dress is gorgeous :)

It's really strange to me to think of trying on wedding dresses and planning a wedding. I don't feel like a "bride-to-be" really. Nothing really feels different between Jeremy and I..maybe because we've been together for so stinking long that we knew it'd happen, I guess it's just more official now!

We have decided that our wedding date is May 19th. We are getting married at my church, First Christian, then having the reception in my parents backyard which is right behind the church. It's absolutely perfect! We're gonna have tents and tables and white lights and mason jars and southern food and beer/wine! Couldn't be more excited about it!

House update: 4 weeks from Wednesday until we close. The banker was actually working on our loan today and ordered our appraisal so we are moving quickly! We did a wedding registry at Target today (very stressful-I did not know the fiance had such a huge opinion about home decorating!) But we went ahead and did a registry because people have been asking what we need for the house as well so figured it'd just be easier to do it all! Lets just say, that little scanner is dangerous!

Alright enough for tonight, guess I should get some sleep before this crazy work week!

So I am one lucky girl! After getting engaged on Monday night, I received these gorgeous flowers my first day back at work! He is amazing :)

We are very excited about starting our new life together. We are anxious to move into our new home! We wanted to get settled into that and then start planning our wedding (Even though i've already started planning-- I'm a girl, cant help it!) We have gotten some awesome stuff already for our house. The night we found out we got the house, we went and bought numbers to our new home to put outside!
We have also been out shopping and looking at everything for our new home. It's been so much fun being able to do all of this together! We actually just got this adorable lamp for the kitchen today at Wal-mart and it was half off ;) It's not surprising that I bought a lamp, I have a slight obsession with them and don't really need anymore, but there are just so many adorable ones!

It's just so much fun finding new things for a new home and a new life! This girl is all smiles :)

Engaged!

So this weekend in DC was very exciting, to say the least! As most of you know, I got engaged! I couldn't be happier! The one question everyone asked when I told them was, how did it happen? Ha well I don't know about you but I don't think there is a wrong way for it to happen! But for those who are interested to know, it was in our hotel room. We stayed in the city and since it was the 4th, we could see fireworks all around. I mean, miles around..like 20 different places shooting off fireworks. It was beautiful! Well he pointed to one side of the window and said "look at these fireworks," and I looked and there was a ring where he was pointing! So lets just say it was a very emotional but very very very exciting thing! We were actually sitting at dinner tonight after we got back to lynchburg and were talking about everything and I guess because it hasn't sunken in, that nothing really feels different yet! But I honestly could not be happier! First a house, now an engagement...all within 2 weeks!

Ok so update on the house: had the inspection Friday and only a few things to fix..nothing serious. We are ready to move in and start our life together. It's killing me to have to wait til Aug 10 but it will be worth it!

Oh yeah! besides getting engaged, DC was awesome! Went to a couple Nat's game, toured the city and had some amazing food! I would love to live there one day!

Ok well first night in my bed since Friday, I think it's that time! Not to mention back to reality tomorrow at work. Night!
